Now this is a game changer - if FaceBook releases it’s own location features, it may be the death blow to companies like FourSquare and Gowalla. This will be a very interesting release, and should stirr up quite a bit of controversy.

My Observation - FB is taking a page from the Google book - partnering with 3rd parties, to later develop the functionality themselves.
